Happy Monday! To remind, you can leave comments or questions on this thread. Scroll to the bottom to see where. My family and I LOVE pizza. We love making it, ordering it, and eating it. I receive a lot of messages about making pizza at home every time I share on Instagram, so I thought I would tackle some of the common questions in the newsletter!
I have a pizza steel but have never used it! But now I’m going to experiment... and I also didn’t know to use it on the bottom rack of the oven on convection. Pizza scissors! I’ve never even heard of them:) what a great newsletter- looking forward to next week’s!
I have a wood pizza peel. I flour it up and stretch out the dough and make sure it can move freely on the peel so it transfers off and onto the steel. If it makes it easier, you can put the toppings on after you slide the dough onto the steel.
We love our Oonie outdoor pizza oven too! We make family pizzas often. One of our best outcomes was a BBQ smoked brisket pizza. We had a large family gathering and many dishes were brought to share. We started combining items and came up with adding the smoked brisket, BBQ sauce, mac and cheese and carmelized onions. It was fantastic!
Someone (I think my mother-in-law) gave us pizza scissors as a gift and I thought they were ridiculous until I realized they were fantastic. We use them all the time!

I bought the pizza steel and excited to use it. What do you use to transfer the pizza dough assembled onto the hot pizza steel in the oven? Thank you!

Would love to see a photo of the outdoor, wood-burning pizza oven! How great!
I'll see if I can take a photo this week and add it to next week's newsletter!

Wow! That sounds amazing!
Great newsletter today! My Italian grandma always used scissors to cut pizza...very interesting that they now make special pizza scissors!

I hope you are enjoying your family on Long Island and get to have Colosseo pizza in Port Jeff. How I do miss their silcian pies!!
Ah! My brother-in-law loves Colosseo! Funny, we all have our local favorites!
