I agree, it doesn’t always last for me either. And I am careful about wearing gloves for any cleaning!! But sometimes it does last so that keeps me hooked :)

I enjoy all your posts and especially these lists of your favorite things. I’ve not had the best experience with probiotics in the past - so just signed up for seed. Had never heard of them before. Thank you!

Really?? Oh, I love Seed. I hope you do too. Not sure what your experience has been with probiotics but I know that people with SIBO *may* not have positive results with all probiotics, so they're not for everyone.

Hope you had a great time with your family. I loved Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. Also recommend Remarkably Bright Creatures, and Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club.

Where in So Cal do you get your powder dip manicure? Would love to try it.

Thanks for your book recs! I get the powder dip manicure at Posh Nails in Manhattan Beach.

The Great Alone was a difficult book for me to get through. My fav book I've read of Kristen Hannah's is The Nightingale (I think I've read three total of her books). Totally agree on Seed probiotic. I have a ton of digestive issues (Celiac and a form of colitis), and it's helped me a lot the last year I've taken it. I do have to time it, otherwise it can make me feel nauseous. And I'm bummed about the lip gloss, they're sold out!

My cousin gifted me The Nightingale for Christmas. I think I'm the last person I know who hasn't read it! Interesting that you have learned to time taking your Seed. I love it. I also think it's a good idea to alternate probiotics once in a while to expose ourselves to different strains, so I take Ritual as well.

You'll love The Nightingale - have tissues ready - that's all I'll say. I'm not a big cryer, but did with this book. I gave it to my step daughter a few years ago for Christmas and she was like, you didn't warn me, once she was finished reading it.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!! When you get tired of the dip manicure, look for a salon that carries Dazzle Dry polishes. My salon calls it a “performance polish” and charges slightly more than a regular manicure. It dries completely in 5 minutes so you can put your socks & shoes on and walk out the door! It lasts ~2 weeks but the best part is that it comes off with regular polish remover!! I used to do gel manicures but am now a Dazzle Dry convert!! You can buy it online (I believe there are 4 steps: prep solution, base, color, top coat) and do it yourself but my salon does a better job than I do!!! My friend Karima does her own annd says it’s easy to get the hang of. Alternatively if you LOVE your salon, you could buy the 4 products and bring it to your salon! There a small learning curve to application, but minimal. It’s advertised as clean, and definitely better on your nails than gel or dip. But for now, enjoy your perfect 2 weeks dip nails and Happy New Year!!!

Thanks, Betsy! I actually have the Dazzle Dry system! I learned about it at the Golden Door. That's what they use and you're right - you can go to a workout class right after your mani/pedi! Also agree that it's easier because you can do it on your own. BUT, I think because I am so hard on my nails, it didn't last quite as long as the powder dip. But again, Dazzle Dry is amazing!

I enjoy your recommendations so much and have acted on many of them! I also enjoyed Remarkably Bright Creatures as another commenter mentioned. The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store was probably my favorite read of 2023. A cute novella is The Uncommon Reader.
