Hi Pamela! Have you tried the mosquito stickers? I buy them on Amazon and one placed on my leg or a bag I’m carrying and the mosquitos stay away. The ones I buy are bright green and have a citronella scent.

I have never heard of these but you and Margi are on the same wavelength (see below) so I will try!

This trick has worked wonders for me this year in So Cal: Fill a container half way with water (plant pot or even a bucket). Drop in a Mosquito Dunk (purchased from amazon, home depot etc). The mosquitos lay larvae in the water and the dunk kills them before they can hatch. It takes a few days to begin working so you may not notice an immediate difference. Check the container periodically and refill as needed as the water will evaporate.

Looking at Thrive and Raos - I feel like I get a big bang for our buck at Costco. I can't remember the exact price, but we get two jars of Raos - wait for it to go on sale - so something like $10?? It'd be interesting to know how they compare.

You are correct. I always buy Rao's at Costco. My kids order the Rao's through Thrive because they don't have a Costco membership.

I am about to pull the trigger on my first ever Thrive Market order! I would love to know where we can find a list of your Thrive favorites, if it exists? :) I love everything you suggest!

Cori, I had a running list a while back but they have added so many products that my list is enormous! Plus, there are certain things I don't even look at that other people need (e.g. baby items, supplements.) All I can say is that my pantry is mostly from Thrive Market. And my kids ordered differently from what I order! Some things are cheaper at Costco (e.g. Rao's sauce) and some things I can't find on Thrive (e.g. Tonnino tuna), but in general, I buy more from Thrive than any other retailer. I am going to order some of the refrigerated items in my next order, like Straus yogurt and Miyokos plant butter.

Hi Pamela, Our family uses the doTerra Essential Oil, TerraShield spray and proprietary blend oil products. They work great to keep the bugs away and smell good too. You only need a little bit. We use the spray to mist above our head and then can dab the oil on our arms and legs for added protection. It’s safe and really works. I also love their toothpaste and OnGuard immunity boost products when you feel a cold or sickness coming on and all of their oils are wonderful for mood, health etc. and they are great for travel. Here is a link to get a discount on your order https://referral.doterra.me/2622969 Good luck and happy travels! Lmk if you have any questions. xo Desiree

If you're in San Pedro or Belmont shore try Coleuses bakery's cumin olive sourdough...fantastic! I might have spelled it wrong

Parakito is the best bug spray. Also comes in roll on. I discovered it two summers ago in France where mosquitos were unbearable. We took it to New Zealand and it worked there too. They have different varieties depending on if you are going to be in tropical climate, or forest or what. Smells delicious, not sticky. You can order on Amazon.

Hello. We are in the country in Quebec all summer. We use the Thermacell Mosquito Area Repellent. It’s a mosquito repellent machine that doesn’t use spray. It works great! I can highly recommend it!

now this one we have tried and it was not super effective for us. But thank you for sharing!

Re mosquitos: I would check out the DynaTrap, it works pretty well surprisingly enough- - it did allow us to actually enjoy dinner in our backyard without getting eaten alive! (nothing is ever perfect) --you can buy in local shops or even on Amazon. My landscaper recommended it to us as he used on their rural countryside home- you can get various acreage that it covers for small or larger areas. Think we paid around 100 USD a few years ago for a unit

I don't think so, but it looks similar to something my mom has. Adding it to the list now! Thank you!

I see these all the time in the desert at restaurants, but I thought they were only for flies. Have you tried these to deter mosquitos? If so, do they work?

I am interested in any and all ways to repel mosquitoes as I am a bug magnet! We are currently using Murphy’s Naturals incense in our outdoor planters. They seem to be somewhat helpful. (Target )

Regarding an applicant, I have recently read that vanilla extract is a deterrent. I haven’t tried that yet.
