Happy Monday! I missed going in person to Expo West this year, which is the largest natural foods show in the country, if not the world. I have been many times and I do love meeting the people behind the smaller brands and getting a feel for trends. But to be clear, the show is all packaged foods. The Broccoli Association is not doing any promos LOL. Here is what I heard from my friends including Natasha Beck aka @dr.organicmommy, Catherine McCord aka @weelicious, my sister-in-law, Andrea Hutter who is a local acupuncturist, and Jennie Miremadi @jenniemiremadi, in the natural foods space and what looked (and tasted) great. I have provided links for everything, but not everything is available in all stores in all parts of the country. None of this is sponsored.
Avafina plant-based cream cheese including a product called “Chiaviar” which contains chia seeds.
Cocobear Organics has the world’s first organic frozen-fresh coconuts. You can drink the coconut water and eat the coconut meat, and the coconuts are pre-scored so you don’t need any sharp objects to open.
Karine and Jeff have a line of homemade organic soups in glass and they have some new flavors coming out. Pricey, but people seem to like them.
New flavors, including Sea Salt Caramel, debuted at Alec’s Ice Cream which is the first organic regenerative ice cream made with A2 dairy. This is my favorite ice cream brand so I’m excited!
Farmer Direct now has the first regeneratively farmed steel cut oats, organic of course. I love their lentils and other dried legumes.
Just Date now has date-sweetened organic chocolate chips in addition to their date sugar.
Burroughs Family Farms added a pumpkin spice almond butter to their line-up.
Big Picture Foods has great olives and small batch craft foods but until now packaged in plastic. They are answering my prayers with their organic, fermented, regeneratively farmed pepperoncini and banana peppers, coming soon in glass jars!
People were going crazy for Pacha gluten-free sourdough breads with buckwheat. The breads are made with just sprouted buckwheat, sea salt and herbs and spices.
Green Girl Bakeshop was making people oooh and ahhh for their vegan and plant-based gelato and ice cream sandwiches
Philosopher Foods is my favorite almond butter and now they have fermented almonds and cashews.
Seedly Organic Dark Chocolate Seed Bark looks like my kind of snack!
I love anything sourdough and naturally fermented, so I am excited to try 123 Dough Bakery sourdough noodles.
Last year Lundberg Farms became the first US-grown rice brand to launch certified organic regeneratively grown rice. I love all their rices and believe me, there are so many varieties!
Only on the East coast right now, but coming soon to the West coast is MyBacon vegan bacon which people were raving about. It contains organic mushroom mycelium, organic coconut oil, organic coconut sugar, natural flavor and salt. I definitely want to buy this for my son!
A few non-dairy creamers on the scene that are much more natural than typical creamers are Forager Project and Malk.
I never really kept candy in the house, but if the kids were home for Easter this year, I would buy this YumEarth candy for their baskets.
Force of Nature animals have been raised on regenerative farms. I personally do not eat red meat because I do not like the taste or texture, but if I did, I would 100% try Force of Nature meats.
A more natural Nutella alternative is out from Chosen Foods. I really like their avocado oil.
